Ilex is able to provide a range of Hydrographic products from offline Geodetic Utilities to complete Hydrographic Survey and construction packages interfaced to an array of sensors such as DGPS, USBL, ROV’s Acoustic systems, Video Overlays, Gyros, Echosounders, etc. We also have our HarbourMan software which simplifies Port and Harbour bathymetry survey, acquiring editing and Contouring in a single package.

QC Calc
Offline Utilities for Survey Professionals

Geodetic conversions with TM, UTM, Hotine, Lambert, Rectified Skew Orthomorphic and Mercator projections. Velocity of sound profiles, Quick traversing, Sun-shots for azimuth plus user definable graphics plots. Graphics screens can be scaled, centred, scrolled etc. and can show waypoints, vessels, runlines. Several chart views can be defined using different parameters for each chart. Each can be centred on a different vessel, waypoint or line.

Ideal tool for Survey and Geophysical personnel to perform quality checks on coordinate transformations, pre-plan offshore survey work or monitor project progress through live GPS link.

HarbourMan
Port and Harbour Survey, Acquisition & Processing

An integrated package which allows the user to gather bathymetry data, select and edit soundings then contour and export to DXF - all in a single package. The system can interface to standard GPS systems, most Echo-sounders, Motion Compensators (HECO), Gyrocompass and Tritech Profilers.

Key design features in this package are a clear user interface, simple configuration and the ability to scan in your own maps and charts and Georeference them in the package. The results can then be plotted on the original charts for comparison. It is focused on Ports, Harbours, Rivers, Canals and Reservoir surveys, to be operated by personnel who are not necessarily Hydrographic Surveyors.

Columbus Navigator
Vessel & ROV positioning, DP positioning monitor

Columbus is a budget Navigation system interfacing to GPS/DGPS, Gyro, Echo-Sounder and SSBL/USBL systems to provide surface and sub-surface position displays. DXF data can be imported, run lines and waypoints created and geodetic parameters configured by the user. The system has been used typically on diving, wellhead workovers, debris clearance, buoy and mine laying operations. The package has also been tailored to clients specific requirements with the front-end display being configured to best suit their operational needs.

The system also supports ARCS and S57 chart formats.

GeoNav Surveyor
Hydrographic Survey, Marine Construction, ROV Survey, Cable Laying package.
GeoNav Surveyor is designed as a construction support package. It provides interfacing to DGPS, Acoustic and Range/Bearing Positioning systems plus many echo-sounders, Gyros etc. including Analogue systems such as ROV gyros. It outputs configurable data strings for Video Overlays, Profiling systems, Fix Boxes and other external devices. The system provides telemetry for remote tugs for anchor running, cable laying module providing catenary display, payout speed indicator and seabed profile. There are also tension monitoring, and counter interface modules for cable repair work.

SSBL Calibration/
USBL Calibration

Calibration system for USBL/SSBL systems.

The SSBL Calibration/USBL Calibration package has been written to fulfill the growing requirement for systems suppliers and smaller survey contractors to install and calibrate an SSBL/USBL system.

The package has been supplied to Kongsberg/Simrad, Nautronix, Global Marine and other multinationals for use alongside their established survey software. The package operates by importing comma separated ASCII data files or interfacing directly with the GPS, Gyro and USBL/SSBL system.

Simrad, Nautronix, ORE formats supported.

Position Verification
Dual online GPS acquisition & statistical analysis package.

A dual GPS + gyro data logging capability for DGPS Rig moves.  It will log the data and provide real-time statistics, histograms and time series plots which can be incorporated into a final report. It interfaces to dual channels of DGPS and Gyro and provides facilities to define a vessel outline, import DXF files and display a chart view of the data.

Geodetic parameters can be defined to provide a full solution in local coordinates. Data can be replayed to allow replication and shore based QC of the data.

TankerGuard
FPSO/Tanker Position & Attitude Monitoring.

A position monitoring package used on FPSO and Tanker installations to monitor the vessel attitude (Position, Pitch, Roll, Heading) in relation to the mooring. It also incorporates 8 Analogue channels which could be load cells monitoring the mooring system, weather indicators or flow sensors.

Audible and visual alarms are provided to alert the operators when any monitored parameter exceeds the user defined limits. The system is designed for ease of use and to beoperated by the marine crew.

Data is logged and can be replayed and analysed using a separate utility (provided).
