Thursday, 4 December 2008
Columbus is a budget Navigation system interfacing to GPS/DGPS, Gyro, Echo-Sounder and SSBL/USBL systems to provide surface and sub-surface position displays. DXF data can be imported, run lines and waypoints created and geodetic parameters configured by the user. The system has been used typically on diving, wellhead workovers, debris clearance, buoy and mine laying operations. The package has also been tailored to clients specific requirements with the front-end display being configured to best suit their operational needs.
Modules have been written to support Tritech Profilers for canal bed survey in very shallow water, Laser scanners to survey canal sides, Debris module for mapping seabed debris (for example crashed aircraft). It also supports dual ROVs - with dual overlay output and dual USBL tracking capability.
The system also supports ARCS and S57 chart formats to provide marine chart interface for navigation.
Columbus provides a navigation and positioning package suitable for DSV or survey vessels of all sizes. It provides an ARCs/S57 display and will import DXF data for background.
The system provides various modules for bathymetric survey including a Tritech profiler interface for bathymetry.
